Both Sides: Atlanta Protests

The Facts:

There were legal protests on Saturday expressing opposition to the development of a police training facility and a fatal police shooting of a protestor earlier in the week. As the sun set on Saturday night, the protests turned illegal. Six protestors were arrested, multiple vehicles were set on fire, and numerous private businesses vandalized. Both sides of the media have a biased perspective on the developments in Atlanta.

Right Bias:

According to the biased from the right, the events in Atlanta are just additional examples of the far left Antifa using any excuse to cause crime and violence in our cities. The leftist extremist chant things like "if they build it, we burn it" in reference to the city's plan to build a new police training center downtown. Finally, the "just cause" that the Antifa terrorists are protesting was the shooting of a protestor that exchanged gunfire with Georgia State Troopers, injuring one Trooper. The leftist extremists just hate law and order and love crime and destruction.

Left Bias:

According to the left bias, the protests occurring in Atlanta are a direct result of systemic racism and corruption in the city's law enforcement departments. For over 6-months there has been a peaceful 'sit-in' occurring at the proposed site for a $90 million police 'Cop City'. The civil protest was peaceful until law enforcement decided to conduct a "clearing operation" at which time they shot Manuel Esteban Paez Teran. Manuel was a pacifist, demonstrating against systematic racism, that wouldn't hurt a fly. If you want to stop the protesting stop the senseless killing of minorities in our country.
